"He Changes Times and Seasons........." And I Change My Blog Background! :)

Yes, I made the decision to find myself a new background and blog header. It's a lot different than the last one I had, but I think I really like it! There are so many backgrounds to coose from. It was really hard deciding which one I'd like to use!

Anyway, feel free to let me know what you think! Have a wonderful day!

(Oh, and to understand better the title for this post, you can visit the previous one below.) :)

"He Changes Times and Seasons..."

I can't believe the month of August is coming to an end! Summer is almost over! I'm definitely looking forward to the cooler weather. :) Today the temperatures have been in the low 70's. What a nice break from the 100 degree sunny heat we've experienced these past few months! I'm sure we've got a few of those days left, though. It's just nice to see some changes in the weather. Fall is definitely my favorite season!

Well, I'm sorry I haven't been a very good blogger these past few weeks. It's almost unbelieveable how much our family has had going on, and it's hard finding time to post anything when you're
that busy! Even now I need to go... I just thought I should try and post something real quick to let everyone know I'm still here, lol!

I hope you all have had a blessed summer!

Taste and See That the LORD is Good!

PSALM 34
1 I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
2 My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
9 Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
21 Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The LORD redeems his servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.

Pictures from our Short Get-Away Trip!

Last Friday some friends invited us to come stay with them at their lakehouse for a night. So we left early Friday morning and came home late Saturday evening. It only took about two hours to get there, which was good! We had such a wonderful time! My sister and I were sure to take LOTS of pictures! So be prepared! First, I'll start by showing you a bit of their very neat house... :)

I just love hardwood floors!

These are the awesome stairs! They were much like a ladder and you had to be really careful going up and down them.

A view from upstairs, looking towards the lake.

That's the living room and kitchen down there.

This is another small living area.

Mom and Dad's bedroom downstairs!

This is the bunkroom where us girls slept upstairs! (There's another bunk bed to the right of the camera.)

These doors only lead to a small closet and laundry room, but I thought they looked cool!

Another view of the stairs. (Mom and Dad's bedroom and the master bedroom are through the doorway on the left, shown downstairs here.)

This is the back of the house. It really looks much bigger in person. These pictures just don't do it justice! (I failed to get a picture of the front of the house, lol!)

A pretty flower!

They had some really nice landscaping!

View of the lake!

Their house is on a very nice inlet. It's not usually crowded at all.

(If you notice, the girls are jumping off the dock in the background!)

Sis #3 and Sis #1

Sis #2 kayaking!

They found a lot of clam shells on the beach area!

Interesting wind chimes!

Now inside to rest and play games! This is Mr. Thomas and Sis #3 playing chess upstairs.

Mom, Dad, and I playing cards at the kitchen table.

Ms. Kat and Sis #3 doing a puzzle together. ... I'm not sure where Sis #2 was at the time!

Okay, now it's dinner time! This night we had organic turkey meat.

And a salad of course! (That's always simple and easy!) Not too easy, though, because we're not supposed to eat regular salad dressing. We just use lemon juice instead.

Ms. Kat decided to spoil us girls, though, with her own version of homemade salad dressing. Still not too healthy since we're not supposed to eat any condiments, lol!

She also spoiled us with frozen onion rings and tator tots. They sure were good though!

And yet, another spoiler: canned biscuits with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top!

What a treat!

The salad was all organic and very healthy, though!

Dad supervising Mr. Thomas grilling the hamburger patties!

Looking good!

Biscuits are ready!

And so is the broccoli!

The finished product! Mom and Dad's plates didn't look quite this colorful, though. All they could eat was the meat, salad and broccoli! (They're on a very strict Candida diet right now.) It sure was delicious, though!

The lake at dusk.

Sis #1 and me... we were using the self-timer on the camera!

The lake looked so gorgeous at night!

It was really peaceful and quiet outside!

Saturday morning:

We were all so infatuated with the washing machine, lol! We had never watched one that was sideways like a dryer!

Another game of chess.

Then Ms. Kat decided to take us girls to town so Mom and Dad could have a couple of hours without kids, lol!

She treated us to some tea at the local tea room.

Another rare treat, now that we're only drinking water! :)

Sis #2

Back to the house for some more swimming!

Sisters #2 and #3

We actually caught a good picture of Sis #3 jumping off the dock!

The adults watching from the porch.

Oh, and this is their pet, little Zaccheus!

He's so precious. I just loved taking pictures of him!

And here I am! LOL!

Okay, that's the last of the pictures! We sure took a whole bunch! ...Anyway, we had a very nice little get-away trip and we can't wait to go back! We're hoping to visit again sometime in the fall. I hope you all enjoyed seeing what we've been up to. Have a blessed day everyone!
